Job Description:

General Description of Position: The position is responsible for the administration and documentation of certifications/assessments and will work closely with the Testing Services Manager to maintain currency (certified proctor) in skills and procedures.Major Responsibilities: Provide general college information about services.Administer certification and academic exams through the Center. Schedule appointments for exams including determining candidate eligibility and exam availability.Assist in the keeping of records for all certifications conducted in the Center.Maintain proper documentation of test results and other records. Input data when necessary. Participate in training as necessary to stay abreast of appropriate technical areas. . Hand or computer score certification exams. Assist students with interpreting placement assessment results or other exam results as needed. Learn software/hardware needed to administer the various certifications/assessments, schedule appointments, document results and support the efforts of the Assessment Center according to established protocol.Participate in vendor mandatory training and complete proctor exams as determined by vendor contracts.Conduct all activities with an appreciation and respect for diversity of people, styles, and views. Promote same as an integral part of one's work. Conduct all activities within the established guidelines of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA). Additional duties of Lead Proctor:Proctor off site assessments and certifications at high schools, other regional sites and/or companies as needed.Assist in developing and maintaining procedures for the Assessment Center.Assist with training new proctors and providing updated training as procedures change.Assist with maintaining voucher inventory and document voucher usage.Assist in overseeing Distance Education and Make Up testing forms and procedures including communication with faculty and students.Proctor certification exams with little to no assistance from supervisor. Communicate with certification vendors and instructors with regards to technical issues or testing irregularities.Manage the day to day workings of the center in the absence of full-time employees. The above list of duties is not to be construed as an exhaustive list. Other duties logically associated with the position may be assigned.Minimum Qualifications: Associates degree and two years Assessment Center experience required. A working knowledge of computers is essential. Excellent word processing and spreadsheet computing skills are required. Must exhibit excellent interpersonal communication, telephone, confidentiality, and customer service skills. Job requires flexibility and the ability to multitask. Willingness and patience to answer questions from fellow proctors and to assist in launching and concluding exams.Requires the ability to hear, talk, see, read and write on a constant basis. Constant sitting, standing and walking within the office area. Infrequent lifting and bending.Requires the ability to interpret and understand complex assessment instructions, to use problem solving techniques as they arise and to reason to make decisions.Due to access of testing materials, current Ivy Tech Community College students may not be considered for the position.Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's degree.Other Requirements:Work Hours: Varies, maximum of 20 per week. Prefer Tuesday 4-6, Thursday 4-7 and Friday 3-5. Scheduling flexibility is a must.Hiring Range:Team Ivy Referral:Special Instructions to Applicants:
