The Advanced Power Products (APP) group within the Large Power Systems Division is looking for an Engineering Specialist to support our developments in advanced power systems focusing on electrification. In this role, you will be responsible to deliver sustainable solutions to our customers around the world through the continued development of battery and fuel cell power systems.You will work with application teams across Caterpillar industries in Construction, Mining, and Energy & Transportation to gather requirements, analyze power system recipe options, and provide recommendations on solutions. These solutions will be evaluated on criteria of both meeting customer requirements as well as creating an optimized set of solutions that best meet Caterpillar business objectives. You will then work with core product development teams within APP to develop, validate, and deliver power systems solutions. You will provide technical leadership that will shape the future of Caterpillar's advanced power systems product offerings.

Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

* Support System Integration account leads within APP to develop strategic roadmaps of electrification of Construction, Mining, and Energy & Transportation segments of Caterpillar * Utilize technical and commercial analysis tools to determine product offerings that will best meet the needs of Caterpillar's customer and its business * Utilize set-based engineering to evaluate multiple parallel paths against established success criteria * Provide clear strategies and requirements to APP product development teams to deliver advanced power systems * Protect Caterpillar's intellectual property

Basic Qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited curriculum * Technical Leadership - Experience with power systems design and analysis, electrical systems, simulation, and controls * 8+ years of relevant engineering work experience * Strong communication skills - Oral and written complemented by the ability to develop/deliver technical presentations

Top Candidates Will Also Have:

* Master's degree (or higher) in Engineering from an accredited curriculum * Prior experience or coursework dealing with battery electric and/or fuel cell electric power systems

* This position will close on 6/4/2021 at 11:59 p.m. * This position is located Mossville, IL or Lafayette, IN. * Up to 10% Travel likely.
