- Human Resources - Group Leader, Associate Development Reports to: - - Management - Associate Development - - - - - - - - - Position Type : - Full Time Classification: - Salaried Exempt - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Shift: - Administrative Summary Subaru of Indiana Automotive Inc. was America's first zero-landfill automotive manufacturing company and is the safest vehicle manufacturer in the country. SIA is a 4.4 million square foot facility with 6400+ associates and is growing. The automotive manufacturing plant houses both production and administration offices. The SIA Human Resources Group Leader, Associate Development, participates in planning, directing, and coordinating the HR functions of the organization related to the salaried workforce. The incumbent will direct both the performance management and employee relations functions of the organization, applying learned skills to enhance the service lines provided to the organization by Associate Development in these areas. Additionally, the HR Group Leader will consult with leadership on strategic planning and serve as a link between SIA's management and staff Associates by demonstrating project management expertise to develop, communicate, execute, and measure the projects and priorities that result from the SIA HR strategic plan. Essential Functions 1. - - Responsible for development of talent of his/her own team and collaborating effectively with other leaders and Associates in the organization to facilitate cross-functional succession planning. 2. - - Responsible for execution of the organization's performance management strategy, including annual performance reviews, career development planning, and succession planning initiatives designed to optimize Associate performance toward organizational objectives. a. - - Administers performance review program to ensure effectiveness, compliance, and equity within organization. b. - - Administers salary merit increase program to ensure compliance and equity within organization. 3. - - Responsible for employee relations functions for all salaried and administrative Associates, including coordinating investigations, coaching managers through counseling processes, and authorizing corrective actions as appropriate. 4. - - Responsible for proficiency and interpretation of all HR policies that related to the salaried and administrative workforce. a. - - Identifies legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting HR functions and ensures policies, procedures, and reporting are in compliance. Studies legislation, arbitration decisions, and collective bargaining contracts to assess industry trends. 5. - - Contributes to the restructuring of the way Associate Development functions within SIA by building organizational processes to enhance Associate Development's outputs and efficiencies, including: Coordinates with functional leads on existing and future projects, and is accountable for the successful and on-time completion of projects. Monitors, reports, and communicates status of projects to key stakeholders. Develops and maintains an Associate Development project dashboard related to all active projects for reporting purposes. Coaches and advises project teams on effective project management techniques, tools, processes, and other resources. - 6. - - Contributes to the development and maintenance of a human resources information system (HRIS) that meets top management information needs, including redesigning organizational processes as necessary to meet data management demands. 7. - - Develops and delivers presentations to corporate officers or other relevant parties regarding human resources projects, policies and/or practices. 8. - - Coordinates training for management on topics such as interviewing, hiring, terminations, promotions, performance review, career development, safety, and policies. 9. - - Coordinates the exit interview process to determine reasons behind separations and executes action plans to improve talent retention where or when necessary. 10. - Consults legal counsel to ensure that HR policies comply with federal and state laws. 11. - Participates in compensation analysis collaboratively with the Associate Benefits Section for the salaried and administrative workforce including developing wage determinations, implementing market analysis recommendations, and developing merit increases in conjunction with the performance management process. 12. - Actively participates in section and departmental staff meetings. 13. - Maintains knowledge of HR industry best practices and current trends and participates in continuous professional development opportunities. 14. - Participates in the preparation of the Associate Development budget. Required Education, Experience and Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field. 7-10 years experience as an HR Generalist. Knowledge of principles (including governing laws and regulations) and procedures for performance management, employee relations, recruiting, interviewing, selection, training, retention and Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS). MS Office, including advanced Excel skills. Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification preferred not required. - Preferred Education, Experience and Qualifications Master's degree in Human Resources or related field. 10 or more years in Human Resources or related field. SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR and/or SPHR Certification. SAP, SuccessFactors and Kronos experience. Supervisory Responsibilities This position will supervise select Associates within the Associate Development Section. Work Environment This job operates in a professional open office environment subject to frequent interruptions and distractions, particularly during heavy customer service periods (e.g. in-between production shifts). - This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones and photocopiers. - The role frequently collaborates with colleagues, internal customers/Associates and management. Physical Demands The physical demands here are representative of those that must be met by an Associate with or without a reasonable accommodation to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the Associate is required to be at work as scheduled consistently and dependably, talk and hear. The Associate is frequently required to stand, walk, use hands to finger for keyboarding, handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms. - Work Hours This position generally works administrative hours (8:30 am to 5:00 pm Monday - Friday) and is subject to occasional overtime to meet demands of production, which may include 1-3 scheduled Saturdays per year and occasional daily overtime. - This position does not currently allow for remote work opportunities. Travel This position requires minimal travel. Occasional travel may be required mainly for off-site training purposes.
