Respiratory Therapist – Role Overview Essential Responsibilities
Patient Care: Provide all phases of respiratory care, including
assessment, airway management, ventilation, and patient education.
Clinical Practice: Use clinical reasoning and evidence?based
practice to develop and implement individualized care plans.
Professionalism: Advocate for patient rights, maintain
confidentiality, and navigate ethical considerations appropriately.
Collaboration: Work effectively within a multidisciplinary team and
communicate clearly with patients, families, and healthcare
professionals. Qualifications Graduate of an AMA?accredited
Respiratory Technician program with successful completion of the
Registry examination. Flexible schedule to support 24?hour patient
care needs. License & Certification Requirements Current Basic CPR
certification. Current Indiana Respiratory Practitioner’s
certification. Willingness to obtain ACLS, PALS, and NRP
certifications. Licensure and certifications must be maintained
according to state, AARC, and NBRC guidelines.
