Job Description American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg / Telemetry for a travel nursing job in Lafayette, Indiana. Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: Med Surg / Telemetry - Discipline: RN - Start Date: 03/10/2026 - Duration: 13 weeks - 48 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, nights - Employment Type: Travel /n Job Description/n American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a mixed acuity Med/Surg Tele position with strong neuro experience and required certifications in IN or compact licensure. /n /n Responsibilities/n - Work in a hospital-based mixed acuity Med/Surg Tele unit caring for both medical-surgical and progressive care patients - Patient populations include oncology, stroke, cardiac, gastrointestinal, and pulmonary cases - Cares for MS patients at a 1:5-6 ratio and PCU patients at a 1:3-4 ratio - Experience with drips including Cardizem, Amiodarone, Lasix, and Insulin is expected - Care for post-heart cath and post-pacemaker patients, as well as unstable strokes and BiPap cases - Uses Cerner for charting with prior experience required - Night shift schedule, 3x12 or 4x12 hours, from 18:00 to 6:30 - Floating to other units within the hospital or to affiliate hospitals is required - Primary responsibilities include managing mixed acuity patients, administering critical drips, and supporting unstable stroke care - Must be available to work 2 of 3 major holidays during the contract - Red tops and black bottoms are required for scrubs - Parking is free on site - Team environment with support for complex neuro and oncology cases - Up to 5 days of requested time off will be automatically approved - All travelers are expected to float as needed /n /n Requirements/n - Active IN or Compact RN license and current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications in hand are required - Minimum of 18 months to 2 years recent Med/Surg Tele or PCU experience required - Must have solid neuro experience and competency with required drips and procedures - Must have graduated from a university accredited by the ACEN or CCNE - Cerner charting experience required - First-time travelers will be considered - Perm or PRN former employees must have a 12-month separation before applying as a traveler - Local candidates are not accepted for this unit /n Benefits/n - High Pay and Bonuses - Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options - 401(k) Plan - Weekly Payroll Deposit - Free Online CEUs - Generous Housing Allowance - Travel and Licensure Reimbursements - Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy - Traveler Rewards and Discounts /n American Traveler Job ID P-667344.
