2/9/2026 About the Position Job Title: Transplant Operating Room
Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Operating
Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours
Experience: Minimum 2 years of strong transplant experience
required. First-time travelers are accepted if they have 2 years of
strong transplant experience. License: Must have an active nursing
license. Temporary licenses may be acceptable if the application
for a permanent license has been submitted. Certifications: BLS
certification is required. Regulatory Charting for Transplants
certification is required. Must-Have: Experience doing recipient
procedures involved in liver transplant is essential. Transplant
experience is a hard requirement. Candidates must verify actual
transplant procedure experience within the last 2 years.
Description: The Registered Nurse will be responsible for providing
care in the operating room setting focused on transplant
procedures. The unit solely performs abdominal transplants,
including kidney, pancreas, liver, and intestinal/multi-visceral
transplants. Pediatric transplants are not included in the scope of
this position but may require occasional support at an affiliate
facility. Float assignments among multiple specialties and to
various surgical procedures may be required. There is a call
requirement of 40-60 hours every 6 weeks. Candidates should be
prepared to work 2 out of 3 major holidays. Location and additional
travel flexibility will be necessary to meet staffing needs.
Candidates should possess competency in utilizing electronic health
record systems for regulatory charting specific to transplants.
