Lafayette East has 33 beds, including three trauma bays. There are
13 monitored beds for cardiac patients and specialty service rooms
for ear, nose, throat, eye, orthopedic and GYN patients. The
hospital is a Verified Trauma Center by the American College of
Surgeons. Community Description Lafayette is 63 miles northwest of
Indianapolis and 105 miles southeast of Chicago. Much of
Lafayette's economy and the surrounding area is centered around the
academic and industrial activities of Purdue University. The number
