Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Progressive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Shift Hours per Shift: 12 hours (18:00 - 06:30) Experience: Minimum of 18 months required License: Must be in hand prior to the start date Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Experience with Cardizem, Amiodarone, Lasix, Insulin, Post Heart Catheterization, and Post Pacemaker care. Solid neuro experience. Description: This is a mixed acuity unit that caters to both medical and progressive care patients. The unit also specializes in oncology and stroke care. Patient ratios are 1:5-6 for medical-surgical patients and 1:3-4 for progressive care patients. Nurses will manage drips for Cardizem, Amiodarone, and Insulin. The unit will see unstable strokes and patients requiring BiPap. Nurses must be prepared to float within the facility or to nearby affiliate facilities. Interdisciplinary support includes Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Social Services, and more. Unit care areas encompass oncology, stroke, cardiac, gastrointestinal, and pulmonary interventions. Candidates will be expected to work 2 out of 3 major holidays. Travelers are required to comply with specific licensure regulations and certifications as outlined in the job description.
