Unit consists of 14 beds in the main ICU with the ability to flex
up to 20 beds by utilizing PCU space. Our nurses care for a number
of high acuity conditions, including open heart surgery, vascular
surgery, thoracic surgery, neurosurgery, trauma, cardiac arrest,
STEMI, stroke, sepsis, respiratory failure, acute respiratory
distress syndrome, DKA, acute renal failure, organ donation after
brain death, and organ donation after cardiac death. This position
is referral eligible! Nursing skills gained: Teamwork! Bedside
procedure experience Central line, intubation, chest tubes
Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump
(IABP) Impella Care of a vented patient Critical thinking Drip
titration Arterial line, Central Venous Pressure (CVP) Swan-Ganz
catheter Patient and family education Patient and family advocacy
Support end of life conversations and process Unit

Qualifications Requires an Associates of Nursing (ASN); Bachelor of
Nursing (BSN) preferred. Requires an active Registered Nurse (RN)
license in the state of Indiana or an active Nurse Licensure
Compact (NLC) RN license. Requires that the RN has graduated from a
nationally accredited nursing program. Requires Basic Life Support
certification through the AHA. Other advanced Life Support
certifications may be required per unit/department specialty
