Job Title: Registered Nurse Job Specialty: PCU Job Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day 3x12-Hour (06:00 - 18:30) Guaranteed Hours: Not specified Experience: Minimum 18 months required; exceptions may apply License: In-State License / Required Certifications must be in hand Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS required Must-Have: - Solid Neuro experience - Available to work 2 out of 3 major holidays Job Description: - Mixed Acuity Unit - Medical patients with some PCU level of care. Also includes oncology and stroke unit. - Medical-surgical patients have a 1:5-6 ratio, and PCU patients have a 1:3-4 ratio. - Administer medications such as cardizem, amiodarone, and insulin drips. - Care for unstable strokes and patients on BiPAP. - The unit is a dynamic mixed acuity unit comprised of both medical surgical and progressive levels of care. - Areas of care include oncology, stroke, cardiac, gastrointestinal, and pulmonary. - Candidates must float within the hospital or to an affiliate nearby. - Charting is done using Cerner. - Orientation includes 12 non-billable hours. - New compliance requires that travelers' universities must be accredited by the ACEN or CCNE at the time of graduation. - Must provide 2 supervisor references.
