Mechanical Integrity Director is responsible for overseeing the
development, implementation, and maintenance of the Integrity
Management Program. This position develops and implements effective
asset policies, strategies, objectives and plans to ensure
management of assets that improves reliability and mitigates risk
over the entire life cycle. This position is part of the corporate
Operations Excellence team, supporting all of Calumet's Operational
facilities.KEY OBJECTIVES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversee the development, implementation, and maintenance of
Integrity Management Plan, including associated policies and
procedures for the Calumet facilities.
- Facilitates the Maintenance and Reliability Managers Steering
Team, driving consistency in approach and sharing of best practices
to improve equipment reliability.
- Oversee the development, implementation, and maintenance of
Hazard Identification, Risk Assessment, and Preventative
Maintenance programs. Evaluate and update as needed.
- Collaborate with other technical disciplines (HSE, Process) to
develop and align standards and policies that will drive safe,
reliable, and profitable operations.
- Review and influence the planning, selection, scheduling,
execution and monitoring for all inspections, testing, and
proactive maintenance.
- Utilize mechanical integrity data and reports to help sites
determine scope and overhaul of asset maintenance.
- Serve as point of contact for securing/licensing external
technical resources for mechanical integrity needs (engineering
support, software tools, industry subscriptions).
- Manage a team of mechanical subject matter experts providing
technical support across Operations.
- Regularly engage with site leadership to verify sufficient
level of support is being provided by the corporate team.
- Participate/lead investigations/RCFAs, insurance audits, and
other activities where corporate mechanical integrity input is
needed.
- Manage assigned staff, which includes performance management,
hiring, and training of employees. Ensure contracted personnel have
appropriate training, certifications, and documentation.
- Other duties as assigned.REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCES:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related
field
- 15 + yea rs of experience in the oil & gas industry, refining
and/or petrochemical environments
- Experience leading or managing a Mechanical Integrity Group or
DepartmentPREFERRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCES:
- Experience at refining/petrochemical operating plants is
preferred
- Experience in a corporate support function is
desiredCOMPETENCIES:
- Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously,
identify critical tasks and establish priorities; strong planning
and organizational skills.
- Possesses strong leadership skills; drives company core values
including valuing people, ethics, safety and environmental
stewardship.
- ASME and API code interpretations as they relate to equipment
and systems as well as understanding state by state requirements
under these codes.
- Well versed and experienced in the application of the pressure
vessel and piping codes used in the industrial gases industry,
specifically ASME BPV Code Section VIII and ASME B31.3
respectively.
- Providing guidance on mechanical maintenance and inspection
activity. This may include review of appropriate codes of practice
or industry guidelines, carrying out appropriate risk assessme nts,
reviewing job scope, and p reparation of maintenance
procedures.
- Excellent communication skills, including oral, written, and
electronic.
- Ability to lead a team of individual contributors and ensure
work priorities are aligned with customer needs.
- Ability to facilitate cross-site teams and drive alignment and
consistency in approach across all sites for mechanical integrity
and reliability objectives.
- Ability to influence without authority and drive initiatives
that may be outside of immediate technical knowledge base.
- Knowledge in performing root cause analysis and mean time
between failure calculations.
- Must possess skills in PC Workstation, Windows, and Microsoft
Suite. JD Edwards / SAP knowledge a plus.
