Job Description POSITION SUMMARY The Manufacturing Technician
will perform assignments that may not be completely standardized,
as well as those that are very specific and require heavy attention
to detail. Selects or adapts standard procedures or equipment,
using fully applicable precedents. Receives initial instructions,
equipment requirements, and advice from supervisor or engineer as
needed; performs recurring work independently; work is reviewed for
technical adequacy or conformity with instructions. POSITION
GUIDELINES /n - Ability to follow detailed instructions. /n - Must
be able to perform repetitive tasks. /n - Ability to work in a TEAM
environment. /n - Clean and maintain work area. /n /nJOB DUTIES &
RESPONSIBILITIES /n - Constructs components, subunits, or simple
models or adapts standard equipment. May troubleshoot and correct
malfunctions. /n - Follows specific layout and scientific diagrams
to construct and package simple devices and subunits of equipment.
/n - Conducts various tests or experiments that may require minor
modifications in test setups or procedures as well as subjective
judgments in measurement; selects, sets up, and operates standard
test equipment and records test data. /n - Extracts and compiles a
variety of engineering data from field notes, manuals, lab reports,
etc.; processes data, identifying errors or inconsistencies;
selects methods of data presentation. /n - Assists in design
modification by compiling data related to design, specifications,
and materials that are pertinent to specific items of equipment or
component parts. /n - Develops information concerning previous
operational failures and modifications. /n - Uses judgment and
initiative to recognize inconsistencies or gaps in data and seek
sources to clarify information. /n - Supports the facilities
function as needed. /n - Wear proper personal protective equipment
as necessary including but not limited to: eye and hearing
protection, safety shoes, lab coats, gloves, dust masks and
respirators. /n - Regular, consistent and punctual attendance is
required. May need to work nights and weekends, variable
schedule(s) and additional hours as necessary /n - Other duties as
assigned /n /n QUALIFICATIONS Experience/Background /n - 2 years of
relevant experience /n - 3 years of experience in a relevant lab
test environment /n - Vocational training, apprenticeships, or the
equivalent experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting. /n
- This position requires use of information which is subject to the
International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Must be a U.S.
person or protected individual within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR
defines U.S. persons and protected individuals as a U.S. Citizen,
U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), U.S. Temporary
Resident, Political Asylee or Refugee /n /n Skills /n - Proficiency
in operating electrical lab test equipment. /n - Ability to write
Standard Work Instructions (SWI) for statements of work in
manufacturing transitions. /n - Experience reading design
specifications and technical drawings. /n - Ongoing manufacturing
support and engineering insight to other support staff. /n -
Ability to handle multiple projects and to work alongside peers. /n
- Experience with continuous improvement environment /n -
Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel,
PowerPoint, Outlook and web-browser /n - Experience in 2D drawing
and specification interpretation and electro/mechanical analysis
preferred. /n - Experience with fabrication of light
manufacturing/test equipment (i.e. tables, fixtures, brackets)
preferred /n - Experience in content/document management preferred
and maintain development documentation for traceability. /n -
Experience using quality gauges, micrometers, calipers, microscope
preferred /n - CAD experience preferred /n - Mechanical aptitude
and good math skills /n - Strong problem-solving skills /n -
Ability to manage time and prioritize responsibilities /n - Able to
read and interpret company documents, such as safety rules,
operating/manufacturing instructions, policies and procedures /n -
Excellent verbal and written communication skills; excellent
interpersonal skills to drive tasks to completion /n - Must be
highly motivated, self-starter and work as a team player /n - Must
have high levels of attention to detail and quality, be able to
multitask and stay organized /n - Must demonstrate the ability to
act professionally /n - Must be able to occasionally move about in
production areas as needed /n - Ability to lift up to 50 pounds /n
/n Education - High School Diploma or GED or equivalent.
Combination of relevant education and work experience that will
allow successful performance of job expectations. /n ENVIRONMENTAL
& PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Manufacturing / Non-Sedentary Requirements
Incumbent must be able to perform the essential functions of the
job. Work may be performed in an office or warehouse environment.
Typically requires the ability to spend 66% hours each work day
doing the following activities: stand for extended periods of time,
walk, bend, stoop, or climb. May have possible exposure to dust,
and may require the ability to lift and/or push up to 50 pounds 33%
