About the Role The Senior Accountant serves as a key resource for clients, overseeing recurring accounting functions and identifying opportunities for improvement and efficiency. The Senior Accountant will build trusted relationships and support clients’ financial operations as a strategic partner. In addition to core accounting responsibilities, this role includes active participation in business development activities. Your involvement in business development will support the firm’s mission to strengthen client relationships and expand our impact within the communities we serve. Key Responsibilities Manage monthly accounting processes for multiple clients, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting Provide insight into trends and help clients understand their financial performance Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow analysis Train and guide staff accountants on systems and workflows Support client requests with a proactive and service-oriented mindset Identify new client opportunities and foster relationships with prospects and existing clients to drive growth Skills & Competencies Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Ability to manage several clients with competing deadlines Familiarity with industry best practices in small business accounting Experience with QuickBooks Online, QuickBooks Desktop, and ADP Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field Minimum 2–4 years of accounting experience, preferably in a public or outsourced accounting setting CPA preferred, or actively pursuing Benefits Include Comprehensive health plan Paid time off 9 paid holidays annually 401(k) with employer contributions CPA Exam Reimbursement Employee referral bonus program Health club reimbursement Flexible work arrangements Our Mission To lead the accounting industry in transformative solutions that drive our clients’ success by implementing innovative technologies and embracing emerging markets. Compensation At M|H, compensation is designed to reflect an individual’s experience, qualifications, and market conditions within their role. The salary range (or starting rate for interns) for this position takes multiple factors into account, including education, relevant skills, work experience, certifications, and location. As a result, the final offer for the selected candidate(s) may fall anywhere within the stated range. Compensation Range: $65,000 - 75,000 This position is bonus eligible.
