research and analyze employee benefit plan options from a variety
of carriers. This role plays a key part in helping employers make
informed, strategic decisions about their benefits offerings. The
ideal candidate for the Market Analyst (Employee Benefits) position
is curious, diligent, detail-oriented, adaptable, and enjoys
working with data. Strong project management abilities and a high
level of accuracy are essential. This position is based on the
north side of Indianapolis. The starting salary for this role is
$55,000 and increases commensurate with experience. PLUS,
opportunities for a variety of individual and corporate bonuses.

market analyst is instrumental in the process of supporting the
employee benefits service cycle. In a non-client facing role, the
market analyst, along with the advisor, account executive, and
account service representative, create the core client team. The
market analyst provides value to the client team through primary
management of client renewal reporting process. This includes
creating and following up on carrier RFPs, analysis of carrier
market, preparation and delivery of reporting for presentation, and
retention of the client’s benefits. Summary of essential job
functions/responsibilities Responsible for market analysis process
for prospects and clients, to include the recommendation for market
selection based on client needs, RFP package review and delivery,
bid specifications and receipt, appropriateness of market
responses, final negotiations, and recommendations to be delivered
via report for the advisor and account executive to deliver to the
client within deadlines stated. Listen closely to client team to
ensure needs of client are understood; deliver information to
clients in a way that is easily understood and of high quality.
Follow the Apex Benefits’ preferred method to track all
communication which supports and discloses data for client and
vendor files, including though not limited to, applicable e-mails,
proposals, appendix items, and spreadsheets. Provide additional
reports throughout the plan year as requested by the client or
service team. Assist team and carriers with problem resolution,
respond to general inquiries, answer phone calls, create and update
Word, Excel, and PowerPoint documents and adhere to the standards
of quality established by Apex Benefits. Refine and collect
appropriate data for actuarial analysis and ensures its
reasonableness and accuracy by coordination within the team.
Collaborate with advisor and account executive to ensure the
accuracy of market risk so that an appropriate proposal can be
created to meet the needs of both the client and its members.
Participate in team discussions and decisions, acting as a thought
partner for clients. Prioritize work and take ownership of tasks
and timelines. Demonstrate Apex Benefits’ values and maintain
positive working relationship with team members, clients, vendors
and contacts. Minimum requirements Bachelor’s degree preferred,
high school diploma or GED required 2 years’ experience marketing
medical and ancillary product lines for small, mid and large
employers preferred Knowledge of self-funding and reinsurance
preferred Superior problem solving, analytical ability, attention
to detail and customer service skills Highly skilled in Excel,
literacy in Word, PowerPoint, and Web navigation Ability to build
and maintain relationships with vendor partners. Positive attitude,
willingness to learn and interest to work toward team goals
Excellent organizational and time management skills Professional
writing and verbal communication skills Self-motivated, with
ability to meet deadlines; ability to work productively and
proactively in a minimally supervised environment and follow
instructions through project completion Ability to plan, organize,
and work on multiple tasks simultaneously Capable of maintaining
confidential information Able to react to change positively and
handle other essential tasks as assigned For service and sales:
Industry designations such as CEBS, PHR, SPHR preferred but not
required Have and maintain appropriate state insurance licenses
